A couple of days catch-up. Helena Hunt is still piling up the miles on her French adventure, big ride from Sue Earnshaw pushes her closer to the finish, and also good miles from Rob Stallard. Also out were Janet Vale, Diane Potter and Grahame Morton. This now sees Sue reach Baker, California and has topped the 2,100 mile barrier; Helena reaching Santa Rose, New Mexico, pass the 1,300 mile mark and top 60,000 feet in climbing; and Diane and Janet have now passed 900 miles ridden.
A busy weekend, the latest CMCCC Club Ride saw four 66ers; Sue Earnshaw, Carolyn Griffiths, Rob Stallard and Tony Griffiths clock-up another 30 miles; a catch-up for Helen Gilmore; Janet Vale and Sharon Ward ventured across the bridge to Berkeley; and Helena Hunt continued on her French expedition. With all that action it sees Sue closing in to the end of the trail, reaching the California State Line; Helen reaching Kingman, Arizona; Robert reaching Flagstaff, Arizona; Tony passing 1,400 miles and reaching Albuqerque; Helena reaching the New Mexico State Line and Carolyn passing 700 miles and reaching Tulsa, Oklahoma. More rides to report, a catch-up for Sharon Ward whose trip across the Severn Bridge has now seen her reach Oklahoma City. Also out were Diane Potter, Tony Griffiths and Helena Hunt who has started her epic ride down the French coast, on her own and self supported – go girl!
Just two riders out over the last couple of years, Rob Stallard taking his new steed up Wentwood only to get a puncture. Rob’s expoits saw him go past the 1,700 mile barrier. Also out was Janet Vale, her ride over the bridge to Severn Beach enabled her to reach Oklahoma City.
Some big miles over the weekend, especially from the ‘Audax sisters’, Helen Gilmore and Helena Hunt who rode an incredible 134 miles to Gloucester, awesome effort ladies. Also out on her new bike was Sue Earnshaw, couple of rides from Tony Griffiths and nice to see Rob Stallard fully recovered and out on his new road bike. Lots of goals hit this weekend; Sue reaching Las Vegas, Nevada and passing the 2,000 mile barrier; Helen passing the 1,800 mile level; Tony passing 50,000 feet of climbing; Helena reaching Amarillo, Texas, and passing 1,100 miles; and Janet passing 800 miles. Well done all.
Just a couple of short rides from Shane Carey and Janet Vale to report. Janet’s trip to Pilning sees her top 40,000 feet of climbing.
More riders out on these stormy evenings; catch-up from Helen Gilmore whose Breeze ride to Usk saw her reach Flagstaff, Arizona; Pub Ride to the Tredegar Arms at Shirenewton for Tracey Eastabrook, Janet Vale, Sue Earnshaw and Tony Griffiths, enabled Tracey pass through Tulsa, Oklahoma.The rides from Helen and Tony put the ‘Yellow’ team over 100 points ahead in the team competition.
A big weekend with lots of 66ers out – biggest cheer must go to Diane Potter who completed the 95 mile Ride London,which has seen her reach Oklahoma City, pass 800 miles and 40,000 feet climbed; Sue Earnshaw was part of the Llanthony Priory trip which has seen her reach the Nevada State Line and pass 1,900 miles; Helen Gilmore has passed 1,700 miles; Tony Griffiths has reached Santa Rosa (New Mexico) and cleared 1,300 miles; Helena Hunt sailed past the 1,000 mile mark and reached the Texas State Line; Sharon Ward has passed 800 miles and 30,000 feet climbed; Neil Gilmore has reached Tulsa, Oklahoma and passed the 700 mile marker; Tracey Eastabrook has also passed the 700 mile mark; Carolyn Griffiths has reached Miami, Oklahoma; and Grahame Morton has passed the 400 mile mark. Also out over the weekend were Janet Vale and Gareth Davies. The Yellow team lead the team competition.
Three riders out today improving their lot. Steve Tobin is now within 100 miles of completing the challenge after his 25 mile ride to Goldcliff; Sue Earnshaw cycled to Usk and in the meantime, reached Kingman, Arizona; whilst Janet Vale made her usual trip over the Severn Bridge and has now reached Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Well after nearly 7 months, 5 months ahead of the target, we have our first rider to complete the whole challenge, 2,277 miles and 78,600 feet of climbing – big congratulations to Christine Smith. Also out putting in the miles today was David Whittle with a 29 mile ride to Porthcawl, and Sharon Ward who completed 18 miles to Severn Beach.
