Quieter day, but still some out stretching their legs after the weekend stresses. Steve Tobin put in 24 miles to reach Holbrook, Arizona and top 75,000 feet in climbing, whilst Francesca Cooper put in a short run to reach the Oklahoma State Line. Also out where Christine Smith and Sue Earnshaw.
A big day today, congrats to the 66ers who completed the Velothon, 90 miles of torture; Helen Gilmore, Francesca Cooper, Helena Hunt and Steve Tobin – top effort guys. Also out where Carolyn Griffiths, Janet Vale, Sharon Ward, Tracey Eastabrook, Christine Smith, Grahame Morton, Gareth Davies and Tony Griffiths. Lots of goals hit today; Steve reaching the Arizona State Line and passing 1,600 miles; Helen on reaching Amarillo, Texas, 1,100 miles and 60,000 feet climbed; Gareth for getting to the Texas State Line and passing 1,000 miles; Francesca, Helena and Sharon for reaching Springfield, Missouri; Carolyn for reaching Rolla, Missouri and passing 400 miles; and Janet for reaching 300 miles. Great effort by everyone.
Two rides today, the big hitters, Christine Smith and Rob Stallard knocking in the miles. A 40 mile ride for Christine has saw her reach Flagstaff, Arizona, ready for the big climbs over the Rockies. She has also passed the 1,700 miles barrier. Just another 500 miles and you will be dipping your toes in the Pacific Ocean.
Few more rides today and a few catch-ups – the girls were out in force, with rides from Sue Earnshaw, Diane Potter, Helen Gilmore and Francesca Cooper, but it was Steve Tobin who put the biggest ride (36 miles), on his last warm-up before the Velothon. There is going to be some big numbers this weekend. It is congrats to Steve who reached Gallup, New Mexico.
Redwick was awash with 66ers tonight, four riders from the club met up with series leader Christine Smith at the Rose Inn. That was Christine’s, second ride of the day clocking up another 50 miles. Also out was Helena Hunt in Pontypool. Congrats to Rob Stallard who has made it to Tucumcari, New Mexico.
Just a lone rider out today, Helena Hunt knocked in 27 miles back and forth to work in Ebbw Vale. Her efforts moved her up a place into the top 12, she also passed the 500 mile mark and 30,000 feet of climbing. Well done Helena.
Four 66ers out today, rides coming from Shane Carey, Rob Stallard, Christine Smith and Helena Hunt. Another new state and new town for Christine who is showing the way home by reaching Holbrook, Arizona. Well done to Rob as well who has made it to the New Mexico State Line, watch out for those rattlers!

Weather is better, weekend coming up, 66ers are back out on their bikes – top marks today go to Diane Potter, not only has she recently completed the London Marathon but today put in 57 miles to Raglan along with Sue Earnshaw.
