What a great ride, plenty of hills and fantastic scenery. Stunning vistas over the Celtic Manor, beautiful villages like Newbridge on Usk and Tredunnock and lovely waterside rides along the River Usk.

Due to it being Bank Holiday weekend, we were down on numbers but the three who turned up enjoyed a stunning ride of some 37 miles.

A cold April day saw six intrepid cyclists take on the elements on an Easter Sunday trip down to the Seawall Cafe. The original route was scrapped and it was a ride along the moors.passing through Undy, Redwick and Whitson before arriving at the Cafe.

A warm welcome to our newest member, David John who represents the 2014 charity, Prostate Cymru.

It was a relief to get out of the cold and warm ourselves with coffee and teacakes at the always hospitable, Seawall Cafe before saddling up for the long ride home through strong winds and sleety rain.

Great ride in all weathers, sunshine rain and hail showers with snow capping the tops of the Beacons. Visited Pencelli Castle campsite, very nice owners who are putting us up on our charity ride in July. Long rough, tough climb past Talybont Reservoir to the highest point on the Taff Trail. Great descent back into Brecon with a stop at the Royal Oak in Pencelli for coffee.

What a day, sunshine, blue skies and magnificent views.

Seven members met-up at Aberavon Beach to make their way to the Llanelli and the campsite, The Gateway Holiday Park that is to be used on the first two days of the Summer’s Charity Ride in July.  Riding into a strong breeze along the busy beach front at Aberavon before taking to the main road and climbing over the Briton Ferry bridge. Along Jersey Marine before entering the revitalised dockyards at Swansea, passing the elegant marina with its shops and cafe before following the promenade past Swansea Bay. The next stage saw the riders climb through the lovely wooded Clyne valley, past Dunvant Rugby Club before arriving in Lougher. A nasty headwind slowed the riders up crossing the bridge and then it was to the back lanes before arriving at the campsite.

Following a chat to the manager, getting allocated a camping spot for the summer, it was into the busy bar for coffee and kit-kats.

Fully refreshed, the return journey followed the same route before arriving back at Aberavon Beach suitably tired.
